The beauty of a Bento box is that you might not enjoy everything that’s neatly packed. But there’s one thing you’ll absolutely love.

I didn’t resonate with all things but I felt for you. And with the ones I did, I felt for me.

So thank you for making me realise that my heart might be a Bento Box after all :)

That makes me so happy to hear! Thank you for reading 🌸

And you’re absolutely right! There will always be that one thing we cannot wait to have.

Also, reading your comment made me realize that like children in school, when we come across people who we vibe with, we end up sharing our lunches/bento boxes. Can’t do that with everyone but the ones we can, it now feels like a gift.

This was so relatable. I think that my heart is a bento box too, a place for grief, another for joy & gratitude, a big one for my faith & love for God, a place for family, for wishes & dreams, lovers & friends left behind. Hargun you write so well, why don't you write a book? I will read it whenever you choose to write one or if you're already writing one?

Thank you for sharing the contents of your bento box :')

I like how it holds space for gratitude and faith too.

And oh my gosh, thanks about the book! I am actually (trying to) write one currently. And your comment is so encouraging to read! ^^

Loved how you you brought this metaphor to life in this piece Hargun. Made me look at the many things that I carry with me in my heart on a day to day basis differently. The dessert and sour milk co-exist. I react to the world carrying pain and warmth at the same time.

Thank you, Abhishek.

The last bit—I react to the world carrying pain and warmth at the same time—is so poetic, love it!
